Mentoring Programme Wānanga: A Powerful Start to 2025

On March 22nd, we kicked off the Mentoring Programme with our first event of the year: Wānanga. This year, the event was hosted in the Valentine Common Room at St Margaret’s College and welcomed an impressive 94 attendees, bringing together an enthusiastic and diverse group of mentors and mentees.

For many, this was the first opportunity to meet their mentoring partner in person. Throughout the day, a range of activities encouraged connection and friendship within mentor-mentee pairs and across the wider WiHN network. Highlights included an engaging icebreaker activity, a shared morning tea, and an Amazing Race around the university campus.

We are deeply grateful to our generous sponsors, RE Burger and Sal's Pizza, whose support allowed us to provide exciting prizes and helped make the day a memorable experience for all involved.

A huge thank you goes to all our attendees for their enthusiasm and willingness to step outside their comfort zones. We would also like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our executive team in making the event possible. It was wonderful to see our new members engaging with the network, and we are excited for the future of the programme.
