Are you preparing for the MMI?

Let us giving you a helping hand! WiHN's annual mock MMI, run by wahine in clinical degrees, is opening up exclusively to our mentoring programme students. 

We know the MMI can be daunting for students aiming to enter clinical degrees like Medical Imaging, Medicine, Nursing, Optometry, and Pharmacy. Our event gives you a chance to learn in-depth about the MMI from wahine rangatahi in a supportive environment. The first half of the day will involve us directing the various sections your MMI will cover, including:

  • How to approach a question

  • Communication Skills

  • Te Tiriti o Waitangi, cultural competency, and cultural safety

  • NZ health system

  • Awareness of profession 

  • Moral and ethical judgement

  • Role play

  • Personal experience, self-awareness and leadership

After a quick break for lunch, you'll get the chance to run through the various interview stations as if your MMI was today. Our interviewers will provide you with feedback on what you did well and areas for improvement.
